I am totally procrastinating at work. This is the third day in a row that we've been stuffing envelopes with dues invoices so you might be able to imagine why I'm putting more of it off.

Arashi 30-day challenge

Day 13: A character (or type of character) you would like to see each member play in a drama/movie.

Ohno - I really want some serious, twisted, dark stuff like Maou again, but I think Ohno can go even darker and more serious. As much as I loved Maou, it still had some over the top/melodramatic aspects that almost all J-dramas do. I'd like to see Ohno in a Christopher Nolan-esque movie, something with the atmosphere of The Dark Knight. I could possibly see Ohno as a good Scarecrow or Two-Face. I'd like him to play an actual villain and also not be the central figure of the film. I don't think I've ever seen anyone in Arashi be 100% the bad guy in anything. Even in Maou, Ohno's character has a sympathetic element.

Sho - Umm nothing because I think Sho is a terrible actor =X No, to be fair, if he had the right script and director he could prooobably do okay. It might be interesting to see him in something like Fair Game with him in the Sean Penn role.

Aiba - Nooot a huge fan of Aiba's acting either, but I could see him being a lot of fun in a totally ridiculous comedy, Monty Python style.

Nino - I'd like to see him do something he hasn't before. Nino has shown that he can handle a lot of different styles - the only time I didn't like him in something is when he tried saccharine romance in Minami-kun no Koibito - but he does tend to get cast in a certain type of role. I think he could be good in a fantasy or sci fi story, or something quirky like Alice in Wonderland. I also think he would be an AMAZING Amadeo/Armand (aside from um. not being Russian. But hey neither was Antonio Banderas!). You know you guys can trust Nino to make Vampires awesome again. And you know you want to see him with like five different sexual partners ranging the whole spectrum - a young woman, an older man, two men that are physically a bit older but mentally much younger.

Jun - Jun is so much better of an actor when he's in the right role. BokuImo = great. HanaDan = awful. He needs something serious with emotion, but not melodrama or cheesy romance because that's when he starts overacting. I actually think he would have done well in Nino's role in Ooku. Or Tacchyon's, for that matter. I think he could play a tragic character like that very well.

as much as i love nino, i really disliked the casting choice for ooku - now i wanna see what it would have been like with jun instead!

Really? I'm curious why. I thought he did well, although in some ways I can see how the role would have been better suited to Jun. My only hesitation is that the romance parts of it would have ended up overacted (which is why I erred a bit more on wanting to see him in Ohkura's role), but then again Horikita Maki is so incredibly boring, a bit of overacting may have worked with her xD

honestly, my reason is pretty shallow, but: having read the manga, physically nino didn't fit the role for me. i think he played it a little different than the original, too, and he did a fine job, but it seemed like a different character to me. i also didn't like all the extra business the added with ohkura's character, but that's just me ;p

Actually, I know exactly how you feel xD not about Ooku because I never read the manga, but I remember hating everything about the HanaKimi drama because the actors didn't fit the roles and the storyline was changed, and Toma didn't even use Osakaben which is what the character he played was kind of known for. When you read the original book/manga you definitely have a certain set of expectations :)

Omg I love your idea for Aiba, it never occurred to me. Monty Python-style with Aiba would be absolutely awesome.
